Reading
Daily reading practise is very important at this stage of school, especially as many of the children move onto being free readers. The children have more freedom about their choice of book and develop an understanding of the kind of genre they enjoy reading. Please ensure that you still listen to your child read and ask them questions about the text to check they have understood what they have read.
PE
PE is a requirement of the National Curriculum and we expect all children to take part. Please ensure that your child has suitable clothing and footwear for both indoor and outdoor sessions. Jewellery should not be worn during PE so please ensure this is removed before any sessions.
Year 3 have their PE sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Year 4 have their PE sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Homework
We will send home a regular Maths update which will highlight topics covered and provide suggestions to support learning at home – this may be an online game or an explanation.
In addition to this, homework will be outlined as follows

In Year 3, we will revise the 2x, 5x and 10x tables. We will then learn 4x, 8x, 3x and 6x tables.
In Year 4, we will revise all previous learnt times tables and then learn the 7x, 11x and 12x tables.

This term we will be looking at Forces and Magnets and Electricity in Science.
