Curriculum Statement
Years 1 and 2 enjoyed a visit from St Neots museum to look at a range of old toys.
Year 1 – “I love learning about the past. We have been learning about Mary Seacole and Florence Nightingale. They were the first nurses and they went to help soldiers.”
Year 2 – “We have learnt about the Great Fire of London and how it started.”
Year 2 – “I can’t wait to be in KS2 because they learn about the Egyptians and the Romans!”
Years 5 and 6 were transported back in time to the Victorians. They all agreed that they preferred school as it is today.
Year 3 and 4 visited Wrest Part where they found out what artefacts can teach us about the past.
” We enjoyed a Victorian Day and it was incredible. I think children in a Victorian school would have been scared of their teachers. It was very strict.”
” As a class we have read “The Street Child”. It made us really understand what life was like and why Dr Barnardo helped.”
